Electroforged Gratings
Cross bars and bearing bars are fused under 100+ tonnes of hydraulic pressure and approx. 2200 A current on PLC-controlled equipment, eliminating cracks and open joints.
View DetailsOmkar Gratings Pvt Ltd (Omkareshwar Engineering) manufactures electroforged, pressure-welded, heavy duty, stainless steel, non-ferrous, fiberglass and expanded metal gratings, together with chequered plate flooring, stair treads, steel floor tiles, hot-dip galvanizing and cable tray systems.
Our production is built around project specifications rather than catalogue sizes: every panel is cut, banded and finished to the layout drawing, load requirement and corrosion environment supplied by EPC contractors, plant owners and fabricators.
Three grating technologies cover the majority of industrial access and flooring requirements. Select by joint type, material grade and fabrication complexity.

Pressure-welded stainless gratings in multiple sizes and specifications, acid washed and electro-polished for hygienic, marine and chemical service areas.

Hand-fabricated gratings made from mild steel, stainless steel or aluminium per customer drawings, with required cut-outs in widths from 250 mm to 1200 mm.
View DetailsThe electro-forging process fuses each cross bar into the bearing bar without filler metal, so there are no cracks or open joints where corrosion can start. The full strength of the bearing bar is retained, while the square twisted cross bar gives the surface reliable anti-skid grip for oily or wet platforms.

Stainless gratings are assembled and welded to specification using raw material conforming to AISI 304, AISI 316 or AISI 309, or to the grade stated in your purchase order. After welding, panels are acid washed and electro-polished to remove heat tint and restore the passive layer for a clean, long-life finish.

Round, square and irregular cut-outs for pipes, columns and equipment can be built into pressed and electroforged panels, either inside the panel or along the outside edge. Every cut-out is banded with flat bar for load transfer and safe edges, and toe plates can be added for platform perimeters.

Specify flooring, stairs and open-mesh systems from a single manufacturer to keep material grades, finishes and delivery schedules aligned across the project.

Thicker, deeper bearing bars for heavy rolling and static loads – highways, plant floors, loading docks, inlet covers and airfields, from forklift to truck and aircraft traffic.

| Grating Type | Best Suited For | Typical Material | Finish Options | Key Advantage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Electroforged | Platforms, walkways, mezzanines, trench covers | Mild steel, stainless steel | Black, painted, hot-dip galvanized | Seamless fused joints, high volume consistency |
| Stainless Steel | Food, pharma, marine, chemical plants | AISI 304 / 316 / 309 | Acid washed, electro-polished | Corrosion resistance, hygienic surface |
| Heavy Duty Welded | Loading docks, highways, airfields, ramps | Mild steel, deep bearing bars | Hot-dip galvanized | Rated for vehicle and wheel loads |
| FRP / Fiberglass | Chemical, water treatment, offshore, electrical rooms | Glass-reinforced resin | Concave or grit-top surface | Lightweight, non-conductive, rust-free |
| Expanded Metal | Catwalks, machine guards, screens, fencing | Mild steel, stainless, aluminium | Galvanized, painted | Up to 80% lighter, no welded joints |
| Non-Ferrous | Weight-sensitive and spark-sensitive areas | Aluminium | Mill finish | Low weight, naturally corrosion resistant |

Panels are tagged to the layout, bundled and packed for sea freight with export documentation.
Electroforged gratings are produced on PLC-controlled machines that apply more than 100 tonnes of hydraulic pressure and approximately 2200 A of current to fuse every cross bar into the bearing bar, creating a seamless joint with no open welds. Manually welded gratings are fabricated panel by panel and are preferred for non-standard shapes, heavy bar sections and complex cut-outs.
AISI 304 suits most food, pharmaceutical and indoor process areas. AISI 316 contains molybdenum and is recommended for marine, coastal and chloride-rich chemical environments. AISI 309 is used where higher temperature resistance is needed. Gratings are acid washed and electro-polished after welding.
Yes. Round, square and edge cut-outs can be incorporated in pressure-welded and electroforged panels, and every cut-out is banded with flat bar. Custom panels are typically produced in widths from 250 mm up to 1200 mm with lengths as required by the project drawing.
Share the bearing bar size, bar pitch, cross bar pitch, panel dimensions, material grade, surface finish, design load or span, quantity, required standards and destination port. Layout drawings speed up engineering review.
FRP and fiberglass gratings weigh much less than steel, do not corrode and are non-conductive, which makes them suitable for chemical plants, water treatment, offshore and electrical areas. Load capacity depends on panel depth and span, so the section should be selected against the design load.
