FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) grating offers an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, high chemical corrosion resistance, and structural resilience under heavy mechanical and pedestrian loads, without rusting or degrading like traditional steel.
Resin selection depends on environmental exposure: Orthophthalic Polyester (GP) is suitable for light industrial use, Isophthalic Polyester (ISO) offers good intermediate chemical resistance, and Vinyl Ester (VE) delivers superior durability against aggressive acids, caustics, and harsh marine environments.
We provide several surface treatments including grit top for maximum slip resistance, concave meniscus surfaces for general anti-skid protection, smooth surfaces for easy cleaning, and solid covered plate designs for closed walkway needs.
Our molded gratings are tested according to ASTM E84, demonstrating a Flame Spread Index of 15 or less for GP/ISO resins, 10 for Vinyl Ester, and 5 with zero smoke development for Phenolic resin formulations.
